To all connected and associated with the Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club,
Amateur football isn’t cheap and the operating budget for the Club is $125,000 per annum.
For several years, the Club has trotted a fine-line matching revenue with expenses and we now face a significant financial challenge. The forecast to the end of season 2014 is a projected $20,000 revenue shortfall, simply to break even.
Three factors have contributed to this position;
- The inability to replace $10,000 of key sponsorship support from previous seasons
- The major fundraising raffle was $4,000 short on projected profit
- The Club is significantly under budget with membership numbers.
The approach the committee is adopting is to:
- Be open and transparent about our position
- Diligently manage expenses (there are limited options here)
- Maximise the return from scheduled social events
- The introduction of significant fundraising activities - more information to follow soon
- Seek direct financial support from everyone who has an interest and passion for the future of the Club.
For 2015 and beyond, the financial viability of the Club will rest on us growing the membership base, the over-reliance on large sponsorships does leave the Club exposed.
The Club needs your support by signing on as a member or sponsor. Alternatively, we would be most appreciative of any direct donation via the following methods;
- Online – marcellinocfc.teamapp.com/teamstore
- EFTPOS – At the Club on Thursday nights or at any home match.
- Direct Debit – BSB: 063105 | Account Number: 10073983 | Account Name: Marcellin OCFC
- Cheque – Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club - PO Box 591, Balwyn North, VIC 3104.
Saturday 19 July is the first step for people associated with the Club to secure our future - the opportunity to gather as friends, past players and people with a passion for the future of the Club. We will be acknowledging the 1974 Premiership success and Andrew Maher along with Essendon’s David Zaharakis will be special guests. More information can be found at marcellinocfc.com.au
Please feel free to contact any of us to discuss the situation, provide feedback or if you have any suggestions that may help.
Yours sincerely,
